هدف هذا البحث إلى دراسة واقع المديريات التعليمية بسلطنة عمان، وتحديد أهم التحديات التي تواجه القيادات الإدارية بها، وتوصل البحث إلى أنه من أهم التحديات التي تواجه القيادات الإدارية بسلطنة عمان: تحديات سياسية, من أهمها: تعاظم دور سلطنة عُمان خليجياً وإقليمياً وعالمياً، وذلک بسبب السياسة الرشيدة للدولة وحکمة القيادة السياسية, وأصبحت سلطنة عُمان تمثل صمام الاتزان والعقلانية في السياسة بين الدول العربية، وتحديات اجتماعية: ومن أهمها: نشأة النظام العالمي الجديد، وما يتميز به من الأحادية القطبية ووجود قوة واحدة عظيمة بدلاً من قوتين، وتحديات تعليمية من أهمها:
حدوث تغير في فلسفة وأهداف ومضامين وأساليب وأدوات التعليم، وزيادة التأکد على ربط التعليم بالتنمية: أبرز دور التعليم في تحقيق التنمية المستدامة وتأکيد الوظيفة الاقتصادية للتعليم, وأن مؤسسات التعليم في جميع مراحله أن تجد السبل والوسائل لتکون مؤسسات تنموية تربوية تستجيب لمتطلبات التنمية کماً وکيفاً .

The objective of this research is to study the reality of educational directorates in the Sultanate of Oman, and to identify the most important challenges facing the management by the leaders, the research found that the most important challenges facing the administrative leadership of the Sultanate of Oman: political challenges, including: the growing role of the Sultanate of Oman Gulf, regionally and globally, due to the wise policy of the State and the wisdom of the political leadership, and became the Sultanate of Oman represents the valve poise and rationality in politics among the Arab states, and social challenges: It is most important: the emergence of the new world order, and is distinguished by its unipolarity and the presence of a great one force instead of the two forces, educational and challenges including :A change in the philosophy and objectives and content, methods and tools of education, the more assurance on linking education with development: highlighted the role of education in achieving sustainable development and confirmation of the economic function of education, and education institutions at all levels to find ways and means to be a developmental educational institutions respond to the requirements of development and the quality and quantity.
