تعد مرحلة الطفولة من أهم المراحل التي يمر بها الإنسان في حياته,حيث يتم فيها وضع البذور الأولي لشخصيته , ففي هذه المرحلة يکتسب القيم , والإتجاهات ,والمبادئ,وتظهر الميول والمواهب ويکتسب ألوانا من المعرفة, ومن ثم فلتلک المرحلة أهمية تربوية,ونفسية, واجتماعية ,وأثرها في تکوين الفرد يبقي طوال العمر.
وقد ساعد الانفجار المعرفي وتعدد وسائط المعرفة على ضرورة غرس قيمة الوقت والعمل لدى الطفل، وکذلک تنمية روح الإبداع والابتکار، والاعتماد على النفس في التعلم الذاتي المستمر في عصر أصبحنا نسميه عصر انفجار المعلومات، وکل ذلک قد يلقي بأعباء جديدة ومتجددة على الطفل، تجعلنا نفکر جلياً في المتطلبات التربوية له، والتي تتفاعل بشکل متبادل ومتواصل عبر الزمان والمکان مع عصر المعلوماتية، لما يتضمنه من وسائل عصرية تحدث تفاعلاً بينها وبين الطفل.

The knowledge explosion and the multiplicity of knowledge modes have helped to instill the value of time and work in the child, as well as the development of the spirit of creativity and innovation, and self-reliance in continuous self-learning in an age that we call the age of information explosion. In its educational requirements, which interact interactively and continuously through time and space with the age of informatics, because of the modern means of interaction between them and the child.
